By clicking Get Tickets, I acknowledge that I have read and understood the Participation and Release Agreement, which contains waiver, release and indemnity provisions and I willingly agree to its terms.

PARTICIPATION AND RELEASE AGREEMENT

I desire to attend The Responsible Finance Forum (RFF) (the “event”) convened by the Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI), an independent think tank housed at ACCION International, a New York not-for-profit with offices located at 1101 15th St. NW, Suite 400, Washington, DC 20005 (“Accion”). As lawful consideration for being permitted by Accion to attend the event and in recognition of Accion’s reliance hereon, I agree to the terms and conditions set forth in this Participation and Release Agreement:

Property Damage, Illness, or Injury

• I am attending the event at my own risk and agree to follow all applicable policies, procedures, protocols, or guidelines communicated to me, while attending the event.

• I assume responsibility for any property damage or personal injury and related medical costs and any other losses or expenses I may sustain arising out of or attributable to my attendance at the event. I understand that it is my responsibility to carry appropriate insurance and my attendance is not covered by Accion’s insurance policies.

• In the event of my illness or injury while attending the event, I consent to medical procedures or treatment considered necessary or advisable for me by any medical emergency or other attending medical personnel with the understanding that the cost of any such treatment (including emergency medical transportation) will be my responsibility.

• Despite all health and safety measures, I acknowledge the risk of being exposed to or contracting COVID-19 or any other infectious disease by attending the event, which may result in illness, personal or psychological injury, pain, suffering, temporary or permanent disability, death, property damage, and/or financial loss.

• Notwithstanding these risks and their potential consequences, I am voluntarily attending the event and I agree to accept and assume all such risks, including any costs, among others, arising out of or attributable to medical care or rearrangement of my travel or accommodation plans. I further understand and agree that I may not be allowed to travel due to my exposure to or contracting of any infectious disease and I will be fully responsible for the consequences of the same, financial, or otherwise, such as the accommodation costs for my extended stay or my inability to work.

• I hereby expressly and knowingly waive and release any and all claims, now known or hereafter known in any jurisdiction throughout the world, against Accion, its subsidiaries and affiliates, and their officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, successors and assigns (collectively, “Releasees”), on account of injury, death or property damage or loss arising out of or attributable to my attendance at the event, whether arising out of the negligence of Accion or any Releasees or otherwise.

• In addition, I understand that this waiver and release may only be revoked by me in writing and that such revocation shall be effective only from and after the date that such revocation is actually received by Accion.

Costs and Attendance

• I am aware that unless Accion specifies otherwise in writing, I am responsible for all my travel arrangements and costs associated therewith.

• I understand and acknowledge that my ticket and any other associate fees paid by me to Accion are non-refundable, except as provided below.

• I understand and acknowledge that my ticket is non-transferable and that if I am unable to attend the event, I forfeit my ticket. 

• As RFF is an official side event to the 2nd The Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) convening, I understand that I am required to provide my identification number for security clearance purposes to attend RFF. The final security clearances and admission decisions will be provided by the GPFI organizers and the RFF organizing team. Should attendance be denied, I will receive a will issue a full refund of the ticket price.

Visa and Travel Requirements

• I understand that I am responsible for and will bear the expenses of securing the appropriate visa or necessary travel documents to enter the host country. I further understand and acknowledge that Accion does not guarantee admission to the host country.

Photo and Video Consent

• I hereby grant permission to Accion and its Releasees and donors to use my photo, video, likeness, voice recording, and name for any lawful purpose, including without limitation, in digital and print publications in diverse settings within an unrestricted geographic area, arising out of or in connection with the event. I authorize Accion to edit, copy, exhibit, publish or distribute such content and waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product. I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to such use.

Personal Information

• I am voluntarily providing my personal information to Accion, including my first name, last name, email address, company name, professional title, country of residence, travel details, dietary requirements / allergies, and identification number to register for and participate in the event and receive email updates about the event from the Center for Financial Inclusion.

• I acknowledge that Accion will process and treat my personal information in accordance with its Privacy and Security Policy, available at https://www.accion.org/privacy-policy/, and this Participation and Release Agreement. I consent to Accion’s transfer of my personal information, within the United States or in other countries, to its affiliated entities, donors, consultants, vendors, and service providers for the purposes of organization, delivery, and improvement of the event and receipt of periodic email updates from the Center for Financial Inclusion.

• In addition, I consent to the transfer of my identification number to Banco Central do Brasil for purposes of completing certain security clearances required as part of participating in the GPFI convening.

Indemnity

I voluntarily and knowingly agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Accion and any Releasees against any and all losses, damages, liabilities, deficiencies, claims, actions, judgments, settlements, interest, awards, penalties, fines, costs, or expenses of whatever kind, including reasonable attorney fees, and fees and costs of enforcing any right to indemnification relating to or arising out of my attendance at the event, including but not limited to my conduct in violation of any applicable policy, procedure, protocols or guidelines or failure to comply with the local laws, orders, directives, and guidelines applicable while attending the event.
